I am here to help you tell your story. My goal is to capture the light that is within you to remind you that true beauty comes from WITHIN. I also want to make the process FUN and I want to make it EASY for you to share your images and that is why my custom experience includes an online gallery where you are able to share, download, and print all of your digital images. Plus, you can post a new image on Insta each and every week!
My senior model experience includes personalized wardrobe and styling help from yours truly, 1 1/2 hours shooting at 1-2 select locations, 3-4 outfit changes, a minimum of 25 fully edited, high-resolution digital images, a 16" x 24" mounted and textured portrait with lustre coating, a Custom Mobile App to access your images with a click of a button and an online gallery where you can share, download, and print your digital images from my professional lab or the lab of your choice all for $595. Collections for printed portraits are available that save you 15%-20% and can be ordered directly from your gallery if desired. However, no further purchase is required!
When should I book my session?
As soon as possible. Spring, Summer, and Fall months book early. We typically book about 1-2 months in advance. The best time to book your shoot is the Spring of your Junior year. Yes, you read right. The Spring of your Junior year is the BEST time because you will have the most options when it comes to available dates. The flowers and trees are in full bloom in the Spring. This is a beautiful time of the year to add some glorious color to your images. We usually begin booking sessions in March.
Can my session be personalized so that it’s unique?
Absolutely. Upon booking with CLP, you will receive an online interview so that we can get the wheels turning on what will make your session awesome. Once I have an idea of what your style and personality is like, we can begin to plan out your session. I believe that planning the experience of a lifetime begins way before our session even begins.
Where will the photo shoot be held?
CLP sessions are offered on location at the location of your choice in and around the Haymarket, Gainesville, Warrenton, Bristow, Leesburg, Middleburg and Manassas area in Northern Virginia. We can even have it at your home, a favorite hangout, an open field, or a downtown area. The sky's the limit. Choosing the location will be affected by the kind of mood or story that you want to convey.
How do I reserve my session date?
To reserve your date, you have two payment options. You can either purchase the entire session by mailing a payment of $595 or you can make two payments of $295 and $300 (checks can be post dated). The $295 fee is due as a session retainer and $150 of that is non-refundable unless the studio is given a 48 hour cancellation notice. The rest of your payment of $300 is due at least one day before your session.
What does my $595 payment include?
It includes styling tips and help, 1 1/2 hours of shooting time, a minimum of 30 fully edited, high-resolution digital images, an online gallery to share and order portraits, a Custom Mobile App, and 25 5"x7" printed portraits of your choosing in a custom box.
How long should I expect my experience to last?
I recommend that you set aside about 2 1/2 hours for your session. I will be shooting for about 1 1/2 hours but I also like to spend around 30 minutes before shooting begins to get to know you, discuss outfit choices, discuss any ideas that you have for the session, if any, and to go over what the session will look like and what you can expect. Also, I will arrive early to get the opportunity to walk around and plan out your session.
If I'm a high school senior, will my session interfere with my school hours?
Possibly. If you are concerned about missing time in school, we can schedule your session during the early or later part of the day so that you only have to miss a part of the school day. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience so it's worth the small sacrifice in time. Keep in mind that schools are used to parents taking their kids out of school for doctor appointments, vacations, etc.
How many outfits should I bring?
Typically, you will be photographed in 3 different outfits though it's up to you! However, bringing 1 or 2 more is a good idea to have choices. You will want to bring a good mix of casual to dressy. You will be given advice about wardrobe as well as access to our Pinterest boards for inspiration once you book.
Is it worth getting professional hair and makeup?
It absolutely is worth it. Professional makeup application and hair styling is such an important part and a factor into how much you will love your photographs. The way that makeup is normally applied and worn is different from what is required for your face to be camera ready. Cameras see things differently than the human eye. It takes a trained professional to know how to apply it properly so that it photographs well.
However, if you would like to do your own makeup and hair, upon booking with CLP, you will receive an informational email with styling and makeup tips as well as access to our Pinterest boards for inspiration. At the very least, I HIGHLY recommend getting your hair professionally styled. The number one complaint that I receive from the girls that I photograph is that they wished that they had styled their hair better! Hair has a tendency to look flat in camera which is not flattering. Professional styling adds body between the hair roots and head which makes all the difference in the world! It also cuts down on flyaways which cannot be completely edited in Photoshop.
I have some blemishes that I don’t like. Is there anything that you can do?
Want that blemish gone? Done.The online interview will inform me about what you may be feeling insecure about. My advanced retouching includes skin perfecting and feature enhancement. You don’t have to worry about these little imperfections. I’ve got you covered!
Will I feel awkward having my pictures taken?
The honest answer is yes...probably. However, this usually only lasts for about twenty minutes or so. It's perfectly natural to feel this way and everyone experiences this. However, very quickly you will begin to relax. I promise. You will never be left alone to "come up with a pose". I will guide you every step of the way...even down to your fingertips. I have spent years learning how to showcase your best features by posing you in the most flattering way and learning the best lighting that will make you look fantastic. It's going to be awesome.
I don't think that I'm photogenic. What if I don't like my portraits?
First of all, everyone is photogenic in the hands of the right photographer. True beauty shines through from the inside out. I have a gift for being able to see this inner beauty in everyone. My job is to bring out that inner light and to capture it. However, if for whatever reason you don't like your portraits, your payment will be refunded. I offer a 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEE!
How long after my session do I get to view my photos?
Please expect to receive your gallery for final approval anywhere from 2-3 weeks from your session depending on the time of year. Before this time, a sneak peek will be posted on Facebook or Instagram unless you don't desire it.
What is the process to view and receive them?
You will receive an online gallery that allows you to quickly and easily share, download, and print all of your images. You will also receive a complimentary Custom Mobile App that you can share with family and friends. This App allows you the ability to upload all or individual images to social media sites and to quickly be able to access your gallery from your smart device.
I’m psyched about getting digital images but my parents also want wall portraits. Do you offer printed products?
Absolutely. CLP is a full service boutique studio that can help you display wall galleries or create custom professional grade and archival products. Some of the products that we carry are storytelling albums, wall art, gallery wrapped canvases, graduation announcements, Thank You cards, or metal and acrylic portraits just to name a few. These can be ordered directly from your gallery or you can choose to download your digital images and order from the consumer lab of your choice. Also remember that your session includes 25 5"x7" printed portraits in a custom box!
Are there benefits to ordering from my gallery and using a professional lab to print my portraits?
There absolutely are. First of all, you can be assured that your images will look their absolute best. I color calibrate my monitor and use color profiles from my lab to ensure that skin tones are true to life. Printing from other labs may produce unwanted color casts and reduced sharpness. A professional lab also offers archival products which means that their products will not yellow or deteriorate as quickly as products that have acid and lignin in them making them suitable for the preservation of your priceless memories. Finally, professional labs offer you more choices for mounting, framing, and finishes.
Am I able to receive personal help ordering products from my gallery?
Yes! I would be more than happy to come to your home or meet with you at a Starbucks or the location of your choice to help you with your order. However, a $500 minimum order is required for this free service.
How long after placing my order for printed products from your lab will it be before I receive my portraits?
Most printed products leave the lab within two days and are shipped directly to your home. The 25 5"x7" portraits that I order for you will take about a week to ship. However, some products such as albums may take longer.
Do you have a confidentiality agreement? What if I don't want you to share my images on your website or blog?
If, for whatever reason, you don't want me to use your images in this manner, you will have the opportunity to indicate this in the contract that you sign before your session begins. This ensures that your images will be kept private. I do, however, highly appreciate being able to use them in this way as it helps me to promote my business. Plus, I just really enjoy bragging about my amazing clients!
Do you travel to locations that are more than 30 miles from the studio?
Yes, I would love to photograph you at a place that is special to you just be aware that travel fees are required for distances past 30 miles from the studio. There is a $2 per mile fee for distances that are more than 30 miles (the first 30 miles do not incur a fee). For distances that require an overnight stay, the fee increases to $2.50 - $3 per mile depending on the distance.
